I am currently involved in multiple research projects in the field of music education. In addition to the previous areas of research, I am also exploring the following:
- Tapping students' creative and productive potentials through inclusive music education pedagogy: This research focuses on developing pedagogical approaches that promote creativity and productivity in music education while ensuring inclusivity for all students. By exploring innovative teaching methods and mentoring models, assessment strategies, and curriculum design, the goal is to create an environment where students can fully express their musical potential.
- Engaging in research exploring the dynamic intersection of Gen Alpha, the generation born from 2010 onwards, and music education, with a particular focus on music teacher education. This research encompasses a wide range of topics, including innovative pedagogical approaches for Gen Alpha students, the effective integration of technology in music education, early childhood music education, and fostering creativity and inclusivity. It also examines the role of parents, caregiver involvement, and community engagement in enhancing the music learning experiences of Gen Alpha learners. My ongoing research aims to bridge the gap between traditional music education practices and the unique needs and preferences of this digital-native generation, contributing to the evolving field of music education and teacher training
- Analyzing and applying Hannah Arendt's salient concepts in music education: This research involves examining and applying Hannah Arendt's concepts of oppression, plurality, natality, freedom, and action to music education. By exploring the philosophical aspects of public space, appearance, and collectivism in music making and teaching/learning, this research aims to provide a theoretical framework for understanding and implementing Arendt's concepts in musical practices.
- In light of the evolving socio-political context in Turkey, where authoritarian tendencies have become more prevalent, I am currently engaged in research that addresses the challenges faced by marginalized and oppressed students, particularly those who identify as ethnically, linguistically and musically diverse, and LGBTQIA+ individuals, in the realm of music education.
These research projects demonstrate my commitment to advancing music education and addressing important issues related to inclusivity, philosophical frameworks, and gender equality. I am excited about the potential impact of these studies and look forward to contributing to the field of music through my research findings.
